CHART
Cultural Heritage Awareness for Regional Traditions
CHART project proposes a new innovative practical introduction to concepts which are not known and widely used at European level:
- Cultural mapping/cultural maps – as an ‘action journey’ undertaken specifically to identify, investigate or reclaim community values.
- Heritage interpretations – aiming to reveal meanings and relationships through the use of original objects, by firsthand experience, and by illustrative media.
- Heritage learning – full range of potential activities intended to heighten public awareness and
enhance understanding of cultural heritage.
The final products of CHART project will reflect these key concepts and will be usable by a wide range of beneficiaries and stakeholders with full impact on local and regional level and significant progress at National and European level.
CHART project is determined to focus on ways in which community members can be encouraged to become active actors and collaborators in the preservation/restoration process of cultural heritage assets and, beyond that, promoters of tourism policies and processes and the cultural, ethnographic and religious values that such assets embody. Participants will also be strongly encouraged to open debates in different contexts (social, cultural, economic, educational, environmental) based on values, knowledge, skills and the beliefs of community members while at the same time respecting European and local rights (cultural, educational and social) and promoting a model (“a culture”) of communit involvement.
